Final Project
For my final project I want to go around and visit bathrooms all around campus and around the Richmond area and collect comments and graffiti that is scratched, written, and marked onto the walls. I have always been amused by the writing that I find in bathrooms, because the idea of someone sitting and peeing while writing is just amusing to me. I remember that I wrote something in the middle bathroom across from the art room in my middle school. It said, “what do we want? Peace! When do we want it? Now!” which of course, I wrote because i had gone to a rally that weekend and I was feeling very passionate about it, and I remember that some fucking redneck made an arrow to what I had written, and then wrote something like “hippy loser” or something like that, something opposing what I had written and insulting me simultaneously. I remember that I found their comment right before I had to take my math Sol, and I thought about it the entire time. Later I went back and wrote my own arrow and wrote “redneck”. Anyway, so for my project I would like to compose a compilation of photographs of bathroom graffiti.
